| A native Texan, Joia Jitahidi began her career as a high school teacher in Los Angeles, CA. She moved to Austin, TX in 1976 where she still lives. She quickly moved toward a career as an executive coach. Two mentors are Richard Bolles and Robert Kiyosaki. Her education includes graduate studies in Urban Studies Education at the University of California in Los Angeles in 1973 and Human Resource Development at the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. Jitahidi is founder of The Executive Coach, an executive coaching and organizational development firm. She has worked with executives and managers from private and public, not-for-profit and multi-billion dollar companies nationally and internationally. She has been in private practice since 1979. Prior to 1979, she consulted with sixty-one school districts. Joia Jitahidi has facilitated groups within a learning environment of up to 300 with great success. In her practice, The Executive Coach she meets with clients one-on-one. Over time, she has developed an expertise for creating a leaning environment for executives. Jitahidi has worked with up to 80 college faculty member participants, as well as executive teams at every major corporation in Austin—IBM, Habitat for Humanity, Riverbend Church, Austin Aids Society, 3M, Motorola, Chamber of Commerce Board Retreats. In addition, she has provided leadership to committees and committee chairs. Jitahidi has chaired the Austin Chamber Education Committee and the Board Recruitment Committee for Ballet Austin. Jitahidi is the mother to two grown sons and the proud grandmother of one little girl and one little boy. She enjoys yoga, dancing, and is an avid football fan. |
